Katsina Governor Dikko Radda Hospitalised After Car Crash

Governor Dikko Umaru Radda of Katsina State was involved in a car accident on Sunday along the Daura–Katsina highway, the state government has confirmed. The incident occurred while the governor was on official duty, according to a statement released by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed.

The state government described the crash as a “minor road accident” and reassured the public that the governor did not sustain serious injuries.

Governor Radda Stable and Undergoing Treatment

In the official statement, Mohammed said:

“We are pleased to confirm that the Governor is in good health and stable condition. Governor Radda remains in high spirits and expresses gratitude to Almighty Allah for His protection, as well as Katsina citizens and well-wishers for their prayers and concern.”

Shortly after the statement, Mohammed posted a video of Governor Radda on Facebook. In the video, the governor, speaking in Hausa, confirmed he was “hale and hearty” but undergoing treatment following the crash. He thanked supporters for their prayers and goodwill messages.

Governor Radda’s Background and Leadership Focus

Governor Radda, a former Director-General of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN), emerged as Katsina State governor in the 2023 general elections under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Since assuming office, he has prioritized security improvements, youth empowerment programs, and economic revitalization in the northwestern state.
