Fresh revelations have emerged on the shocking kidnap and murder of Ondo varsity students. Two Adekunle Ajasin University undergraduates, Friday Abah and Eloho Okah, were abducted and killed by a gang allegedly led by the male victim’s landlord.
According to the Ondo State Police Commissioner, Adebowale Lawal, the students disappeared on June 20. Their tragic fate was uncovered after weeks of intense investigation.
How Ondo Varsity Students Were Abducted and Murdered
Lawal explained that the victims were held captive before being killed. During their captivity, ₦800,000 was withdrawn from Abah’s account. The female victim was also raped.
The police commissioner revealed that the duo was murdered after one victim recognized one of the kidnappers. Their bodies were disposed of in separate locations near Agbado and Ode-Ekiti.
Police Arrest Landlord and Accomplices in Ondo Murder Case
Detectives arrested Ojo Michael after recovering an iPhone belonging to one victim from a buyer in Lagos. Michael confessed to taking part in the kidnap and murder of Ondo varsity students.
He named Oladele Femi, the landlord of the male victim, as the mastermind. Another accomplice, identified as Kola, is still on the run.
Michael admitted to raping the female victim and killing both students to cover their tracks. A Lexus RX 350 belonging to the victims was recovered.
Landlord Confesses, Police Recover Female Victim’s Body
Oladele Femi reportedly confessed to initiating the deadly plot. Acting on his confession, detectives found the female victim’s remains near Ode-Ekiti. The search continues for the male victim’s body, believed to have been dumped in a river.
Lawal described the case as a grim reminder of betrayal and greed, assuring that all suspects will face justice.
Students Union Reacts to Ondo Varsity Killings
The President of AAUA’s Students Union, Akeem Ologbon, called the killings “painful and devastating.” He confirmed that the union engaged with security agencies immediately after the disappearance to aid the investigation.
